Trenchless Sewer Repair in Ventura County

Ventura County is a mix of coastal older stock and 1970s-80s planned suburbs, and both have reached the age where sewer laterals start showing up in our schedule regularly.

What fails in Ventura County sewer lines, and why

Ventura and Oxnard's older neighborhoods run clay laterals from the 1920s through the 1950s, with coastal moisture and a high water table accelerating cast iron corrosion under slabs near the beach. Thousand Oaks, Simi Valley and Camarillo built out heavily in the 1960s through 80s — that generation of ABS is now old enough that hub cracking and joint separation are routine findings. Agricultural-adjacent properties add their own issue: deeper laterals and longer runs to reach a main.

Terrain and access

Coastal plain and river bottom with a high water table near the shore, transitioning to hillside and canyon development inland around Thousand Oaks and Simi Valley.

What we watch for on Ventura County camera inspections

  • High water table near the coast accelerating under-slab cast iron corrosion
  • 1970s-80s ABS reaching the age of hub cracking and joint separation
  • Hillside and canyon lots inland with long, deep runs
  • Older clay laterals in the Ventura and Oxnard urban cores

Trenchless methods we use in Ventura County

Which one applies to your line is a question the camera answers, not the price sheet. Here is what each method does and where it stops being appropriate.

CIPP Pipe Lining

A resin-saturated felt liner cured in place forms a new jointless pipe inside the old one.

Best for: Cracked, root-intruded, offset-jointed or corroded pipe that still holds its line and grade.

Pipe Bursting

A bursting head splits the old pipe outward while pulling new HDPE into its place.

Best for: Collapsed, crushed, offset or badly deteriorated pipe, and any line you want to upsize (4" to 6").

Spin Cast Lining

A spinning applicator head sprays a structural coating that builds a new wall inside the pipe.

Best for: Cast iron building drains, multi-bend runs, small diameters, and pipe with fittings that a CIPP liner cannot negotiate.

Sectional Point Repair

A short liner sleeve seals one defect without lining the whole run.

Best for: One isolated defect in an otherwise sound line: a single crack, one offset joint, one root intrusion point.

Getting to Ventura County

Ventura County is a regular run for us rather than an occasional one — we have done many projects across the county. Being based in Orange County means we schedule here deliberately, with firm dates rather than a same-afternoon window. For a planned sewer rehabilitation that is rarely a drawback, and it buys you a crew that does nothing but trenchless.

Permits and jurisdiction in Ventura County

Cities of Ventura, Oxnard, Thousand Oaks, Simi Valley and Camarillo each permit lateral work locally; unincorporated areas go through Ventura County Public Works. Verify current requirements before scheduling.

Cities we serve in Ventura County

We work throughout Ventura County, including the communities below. If your city isn't listed, we almost certainly still cover it — call the Ventura County line and ask.

Getting a straight answer about your Ventura County sewer line

Every job here starts the same way: we camera the line end to end with a footage counter running, locate the defect from above ground, and show you what's actually there. Then you get a written recommendation that says which method fits and why the others don't. Sometimes that answer is that trenchless won't work on your line and you need conventional replacement. We'd rather tell you that up front than sell you a liner that reproduces the problem.

How a job runs

Camera first. Always.

A sewer quote given without video is a guess, and guesses are how homeowners end up paying for a liner that was never going to fix the problem. Here's the sequence we follow on every job.

  1. Step 1

    Camera inspection and locating

We run a push camera the full length of the line with an on-screen footage counter, then locate the defect from above ground so its position and depth are known precisely. You get the footage. Nothing is quoted before this happens.

  2. Step 2

    Cleaning and descaling

Roots, grease and scale come out with hydro jetting and mechanical cutters until the camera shows bare pipe wall. A liner bonds to the host pipe, so this step determines whether the repair holds.

  3. Step 3

    Method selection and written scope

Based on what the camera actually showed, we recommend lining, bursting, spin casting, a sectional repair, or conventional replacement — and we tell you why the others were ruled out. The scope, price and timeline are in writing.

  4. Step 4

    Permitting

We pull the permit for the jurisdiction the property sits in and schedule the required inspections. Where a city adds historic district or right-of-way review, you hear about it before the work is booked.

  5. Step 5

    Installation

Most residential laterals are completed in one working day. You will be without sewer service during that window and we tell you exactly when it starts and ends.

  6. Step 6

    Post-work camera verification

We run the camera again after cure and give you the recording. You should be able to see the finished interior end to end — a jointless wall with no intrusion, no offsets and continuous fall.
